CalDigit Tip of the Week Oct 19, 2012

Have you ever wanted to move your drives from one edit suite to another? This week’s tip for the VRmini allows you to do just that.

If you have your VRmini in RAID 1, or JBOD mode you can take one of the hard drives out of the unit, and take them to another VRmini that is in JBOD mode, insert the drive, and access those files. This should NOT be done however if the VRmini is in RAID 0.

This tip is a great solution for professionals using the VRmini on location, who then need to send those drives back to their post production team to start working with the footage. It is also great for people who are working in multiple locations, and don’t want to transport the whole drive with them every time. The VR mini’s hot swappable drive bays make it simple to remove drives.

The VRmini is available from CalDigit Resellers worldwide, and through the CalDigit online store.
